Practical notes

Distances, facilities and privacy

Where the hospital guidance, walking estimates and apartment information come from.

Walking times and distances

We use the pedestrian network in OpenStreetMap, routed with OSRM through the FOSSGIS routing service. This follows paths and crossings, including bridges. The route starts and ends at mapped points near the apartment and hospital postcode centres from Postcodes.io. It is not a surveyed journey between front doors.

Minutes are the routing engine’s walking estimates, rounded up. They exclude getting out of the apartment, time inside the hospital, rest stops and waiting at reception. A route may include steps. It is not a wheelchair route assessment. Each building has a directions link where you can use the actual address and the entrance on your appointment letter.

The usual default filter is 1.5 km on foot. Guy’s, St Thomas’ and Chelsea and Westminster start at 2.5 km; the Wellington starts at 3 km. Each search states its radius. Results are ordered by walking distance. Widen the filter to see more buildings.

Hospital information

Hospital guides use official hospital travel and patient pages, with links alongside the relevant details. TfL supplies the step-free station guidance. Lift faults, roadworks and entrance changes can affect a journey; use the hospital’s directions and TfL’s current status before travelling. Appointment instructions identify the building and department for your visit.

Apartment access

Facilities come from the London Residency building records and published operator information. “Lift listed” records a lift in the facilities; it does not answer questions about entrance steps or the lift’s dimensions. “Accessible rooms published” means the operator offers an accessible category in selected units. No building has had an on-site access survey by London Hospital Stays. Missing measurements remain unknown.

Prices and quotes

There is no live availability or rate feed. The team requests quotes for the dates and apartment required, including the total price and booking terms.

Your shortlist and enquiry

The shortlist is kept in this browser tab’s session storage, not in an enquiry URL. The form sends your contact details, dates, hospital selection, chosen buildings and accommodation questions directly to London Residency’s existing enquiry system over HTTPS. There is no copy-and-paste handoff. The shortlist is removed from the tab after a successful submission.

The form asks for the contact’s name and email, not a patient’s identity or clinical information. No diagnosis, patient record or medical history is needed. The team receives an accommodation request, not a treatment referral. Submissions use London Residency’s existing email notifications, secure enquiry backup and privacy policy. A failed send is shown as an error, not a confirmation.

Cloudflare hosts this website and supplies performance measurement. Its Turnstile check protects the enquiry form.

Map data and photographs
